Although there's a very popular Spider-Man 2 PS5 out there right now if you're lucky enough to find them in stock, PlayStation has taken a slightly different tact when it comes to different designs and colors of its latest console. The PS5's white cover can be removed and replaced with a different design or color. There are a few varieties available, including the Spidey ones that come with the limited edition console, and now three more options have been revealed.

Giving all of its covers fancy names rather than just the colors that they are, the three additions that make up the Deep Earth collection have been dubbed Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. So red, blue, and silver. The silver one may well be the most eye-catching of the three as it's the most unique console cover revealed for the PS5 so far. Not just silver in color, it's also shiny, making your PS5 look a little bit like it has been dipped in chrome. The red and blue options also have a metallic finish.

The State of Play also came with three new DualSense colors, the same as the colors above so you can buy a controller to match your cover of choice. Again, the silver one is definitely the most striking, although I'd like a closer look at the DualSense and its matching cover before I commit to buying the set. Anything that shiny looks like it might get scuffed and scratched pretty easily, so maybe not the color to go for if your console is low down and you have kids and pets around.

No prices, release dates, or pre-order details for the Deep Earth collection have been revealed yet. PlayStation tends to reveal accessories like these before making them available. As for how much they might cost, it seems likely the new colors will probably cost more or less the same as the other covers and DualSense options already available.

If that is the case, you can expect the Deep Earth collection's controllers to cost $75 each, although I wouldn't be surprised to find out their metallic finish means they're slightly more expensive. The covers tend to be a little cheaper with other base colors retailing for $55. Again though, the options PlayStation considers to be slightly more special are $65, so every chance Deep Earth collection items cost a little more.

A lot of options for those of you who are bored of your white PS5s as we approach the console's third birthday. Xbox has indicated it will sort of be following in PlayStation's footsteps despite having already released a few limited edition Series X consoles. Although its outer shell can't be easily removed and replaced, Xbox revealed a Starfield wrap that goes around your Series X. The design matches the very popular Starfield controller that went on sale over the summer.
